Remote command execution via unsanitized enable parameter
Published Apr 28, 2026 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
OS command injection in TOTOLINK A8000RU 7.1cu.643_b20200521 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via a crafted request. The setPptpServerCfg handler reads the enable value, inserts it with snprintf into a command string, and sends that string through CsteSystem to execv without neutralizing shell syntax. The CNA assessment requires no privileges or user interaction, although the demonstrated request includes a session cookie; successful exploitation runs commands on the router.
