CVE-2026-71961Network attack vector

Root command execution via mesh MQTT command injection

Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

OS command injection in Cudy WR3000 2.0 firmware before 2.5.24 allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands via mesh MQTT. The sync_command binary passes mesh command input to a shell execution sink in command.lua without neutralizing shell metacharacters, so attacker-controlled MQTT fields become operating-system commands. Exploitation requires prior access to the MQTT broker and a network path to the mesh control interface, but the disclosed command path runs as root and can yield full device compromise.
