Unauthenticated command execution via oversized CGI fields
Published Aug 8, 2026 · Updated Aug 8, 2026
Buffer overflow in D-Link DWR-M961 C1 firmware before 1.1.5_C1_202607071108 allows remote attackers to execute commands or crash the router. The quicksetup.cgi handler copies overly long test4, ssid2, and username values without checking destination bounds, permitting payload-controlled memory corruption. Network access to the web-management CGI is sufficient; successful exploitation executes commands, while failed attempts can crash the device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
