Authenticated service interruption via unchecked ACE name copy
Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026
Buffer overflow in affected DrayTek VigorSwitch firmware allows remote authenticated users to interrupt the management service. The acl_general_setup Add ACE path copies the name field into a fixed-size buffer without validating its length. Access requires administrative web-interface credentials; DrayTek reports no demonstrated practical trigger, while successful control-flow corruption permits command execution.
