Unauthorized switch operations via unchecked syslog requests
Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026
Missing authorization in DrayTek VigorSwitch firmware before the listed fixes allows remote attackers to alter switch operations. Multiple syslog handlers in mainfunction.cgi accept crafted requests without checking authorization before modifying configuration, restarting services, saving startup configuration, or clearing logs. No credentials or user interaction are required; successful requests can persist unauthorized changes, interrupt services, and erase operational logs.
