Root command execution via unfiltered jsonstatus fields
Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026
OS command injection in DrayTek VigorSwitch firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges. The mainfunction.cgi jsonstatus function passes insufficiently filtered usescript, usefile, and option fields into command execution. Administrative web-interface credentials are required, and DrayTek confirms the code condition but reports no documented trigger or practical attack path.
