File and state access via metadata template injection

Server-side template injection in GBIF Integrated Publishing Toolkit before 3.3.4 lets remote authenticated attackers access server-side files and state. Resource metadata fields such as Description, Title, Identifier, Funding, Study Area Description, Design Description, Sampling Method Description, Sampling Method Study Extent, Sampling Data Quality Control, Sampling Data Step Description, and Bibliographic Citation are rendered by FreeMarker with user-controlled content still passed through ?interpret, so stored template expressions execute when a resource is viewed. Exploitation requires an authenticated account with permission to manage IPT resource metadata; published records confirm file and application-state access, while operating-system command execution is described only as a potential downstream effect in the disclosure.
