Code execution via unescaped header parameter name
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Code injection in Orval before 8.21.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript by supplying a crafted OpenAPI header parameter name. In packages/zod/src/index.ts, header request-validation generation wraps the raw name in double quotes inside zod.object, so a quote closes the key and introduces an evaluated computed property. Execution occurs only when a Zod or Hono client is generated from the untrusted specification and the generated schema module is imported, compromising that developer, CI, test, or application process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
