Command execution via unchecked syslog enable parameter
Published Apr 27, 2026 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Command injection in TOTOLINK A8000RU 7.1cu.643_b20200521 allows remote attackers to execute OS commands via CGI requests. The syslog handler in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi passes the enable value through Uci_Set_Str into a formatted command executed by CsteSystem without neutralizing command syntax. Exploitation requires network access to the management interface; the CNA reports no authentication requirement, although the published demonstration includes a session cookie and establishes command execution rather than the authentication boundary.
