Heap type confusion in Apache Fory C++ 0.14.0 through 1.4.0 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted serialized input. Polymorphic smart-pointer reads accept attacker-controlled runtime type metadata without verifying compatibility, then treat the incompatible heap object as the declared base type. Exposure requires an application to deserialize untrusted data through this C++ feature; resulting undefined behavior includes process crashes and code execution.
