Command execution via unsanitized password interpolation
Published Apr 27, 2026 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Command injection in TOTOLINK A8000RU 7.1cu.643_b20200521 allows remote attackers to execute OS commands via crafted requests. In /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi, setLoginPasswordCfg passes admpass through Uci_Set_Str, which interpolates the value into a command executed by CsteSystem without neutralizing shell syntax. Exploitation requires access to the management interface; the CNA reports no authentication requirement, but the published demonstration includes a session cookie.
