Session data access via unsafe employee search rendering
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Reflected XSS in Horilla HRMS before 1.6.0 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript when an authenticated user opens a crafted link. The employee_nav.html template copies the search field into .search_text with jQuery .html(), causing browser interpretation of attacker-controlled markup. Execution requires an authenticated employee or administrator to reach the employee filter, exposing browser-visible session data and actions available to that account.
