Privilege escalation via arbitrary Helm values override
Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026
Improper configuration control in Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The search-v2-operator GetValuesFromAddonAnnotation function reads arbitrary JSON from the addon.open-cluster-management.io/values annotation and deep-merges it after trusted Helm values, allowing image settings to be replaced. Exploitation requires patch managedclusteraddons permission in one managed-cluster namespace and can replace the search collector image on that cluster.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
