Internal resource access via unvalidated base URL
Published Apr 27, 2026 · Updated Apr 27, 2026
Server-side request forgery in JoeCastrom MCP Chat Studio 1.0 through 1.5.0 allows remote attackers to access internal HTTP resources. The /api/llm/models handler passes req.query.base_url directly to fetch() as the destination for an /api/tags request without scheme, host, or address validation. The attacker must reach the HTTP route, and server egress determines which loopback, private-network, link-local, or metadata services can be queried.
