Denial of service in Mermaid 11.6.0 through 11.16.0 allows remote attackers to freeze a rendering process via a crafted radar diagram. The radar diagram setOptions function stored the unbounded ticks value without enforcing a maximum, allowing rendering work to scale with attacker-controlled input. Exploitation requires an application or user to render attacker-controlled radar diagram text; the result ranges from a prolonged hang to process termination under memory exhaustion.
