CVE-2026-7142Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unchecked script upload

Published Apr 27, 2026 · Updated Apr 27, 2026

Improper authorization in Wooey allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary Python scripts through its API endpoint. The add_or_update_script function accepts uploaded scripts after checking only that the requester is logged in, and Celery workers execute the registered code without verifying staff status. Any registered account can reach code execution as the Wooey service user; however, the upstream issue states that the API module is absent from releases 0.13.2 and earlier, conflicting with the CVE version list.
