CVE-2026-71392Network attack vector

Code execution via crafted TrueType font

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Integer overflow in GNU Emacs for Android 30.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted TrueType font. The sfnt_read_cmap_format_12() function adds an untrusted format-12 group count in an xmalloc size calculation without checking for wraparound, so the undersized allocation is overrun during parsing. On 32-bit Android builds, exploitation requires Emacs to load the font from email, EWW, or a document with custom faces.
