Code execution via integer-wrapped MSFZ PDB write
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft.DiaSymReader.Native allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted MSFZ PDB file. An integer wrap during MSFZ parsing causes a heap out-of-bounds write when the component processes the crafted PDB. Exploitation requires a user to open or otherwise process the malicious PDB, after which attacker-controlled code runs in that user's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
