Path traversal in Rclone rclone 1.51.0 through 1.74.4 allows remote attackers to write files outside a chosen local destination. backend/local.localPath decodes standard-encoded object names and passes resulting parent-directory or native-backslash components to filepath.Join without checking confinement. Exploitation requires an attacker-controlled source object, a victim-initiated copy or sync, and a non-default local encoding that preserves path syntax; files writable by the rclone process can be created or overwritten.
