Session takeover via retained attacker-supplied identifier
Published Sep 29, 2026 · Updated Sep 29, 2026
Session fixation in Toptech Systems TMS7 and Tophat 7.6.3 allows remote attackers to take over a user's session after login. The applications' session management accepts a supplied session identifier and retains it after authentication instead of issuing a new one. Exploitation requires a victim to authenticate using an identifier already known to the attacker; the attacker then reuses that authenticated session.
