Unauthorized writes via unprotected REST endpoints
Published Oct 5, 2026 · Updated Oct 5, 2026
Authentication bypass in the Maestro REST API within Red Hat Multicluster Engine for Kubernetes allows remote attackers to alter cluster data. The consumer and resource-bundle write routes were registered without authentication middleware, so they process create, modify, or delete requests without verifying the caller. Exploitation requires network access to the REST API; unauthorized changes can damage cluster-management data or interrupt service.
