Unauthenticated student-record disclosure via unprotected API routes
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Missing authorization in Book-Management-System version 0 allows remote attackers to read student PII and borrowing records via Flask APIs. The /student and /record handlers query Student and ReadBook rows from a supplied card value and return JSON without the @login_required guard used on sibling routes. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient, and sequential card identifiers allow enumeration of names, gender, validity, debt status, and complete loan histories.
