Resource exhaustion in iperf3 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux allows remote attackers to interrupt the service over the network. JSON_read() trusts a peer-supplied 32-bit message length and allocates that size plus one byte before parsing, rather than enforcing a maximum. Network reachability to the iperf3 control port is sufficient because allocation precedes authentication; repeated requests consume memory, slow the host, or terminate the service.
