Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized wizard parameter
Published Apr 27, 2026 · Updated Apr 27, 2026
OS command injection in TOTOLINK A8000RU 7.1cu.643_b20200521 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through its CGI handler. The setWizardCfg path in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi copies the wizard value into a command buffer and passes it through CsteSystem to execv without neutralizing shell metacharacters. No valid credentials or user interaction are required, and successful exploitation runs commands with the web service's privileges.
