Stale owner access via unrevalidated JWT claims
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Insufficient session expiration in Shiori version 0 allows attackers with valid owner JWTs to retain elevated access. CheckToken in internal/domains/auth.go verifies only the HMAC signature and trusts the embedded claims.Account without consulting the database or a revocation store. Attackers holding an owner token retain owner-level access after account deletion or demotion until expiry, which reaches 30 days when persistent login is enabled.
