CVE-2026-71202Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process crash via unchecked crop offsets

Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Integer underflow in Raster 0.2.1 and earlier allows attackers to crash calling processes via crafted crop offsets. The crop() function subtracts an oversized offset from a source-bounded dimension and passes the negative i32 to Image::blank(), where conversion to usize triggers a Vec::with_capacity() panic. Exploitation requires an application to pass attacker-controlled crop coordinates; the demonstrated consequence is process termination without memory corruption.
