Authenticated code execution via unchecked sprintf
Published Apr 27, 2026 · Updated Apr 27, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda F456 firmware 1.0.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted page parameter. The fromwebExcptypemanFilter function passes the user-controlled value through variable v6 to sprintf without checking its length before writing stack buffer s. A low-privilege web session is required; an oversized POST to /goform/webExcptypemanFilter can crash httpd or execute code on the router.
