Authenticated code execution via unchecked WAN password
Published Apr 27, 2026 · Updated Apr 27, 2026
Buffer overflow in Tenda F456 Firmware 1.0.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute code or crash httpd via a crafted WAN request. When wanmode equals 2, fromAdvSetWan passes the user-controlled PPPOEPassword value to sub_3B860 without checking its length, overflowing stack buffer s. Valid web-administration access is required; exploitation executes code in the router context or interrupts its HTTP service.
