CVE-2026-70634Network attack vector

Backend memory disclosure via unchecked dictionary index

Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in TimescaleDB through 2.29.1 allows remote authenticated users to disclose PostgreSQL backend memory. The reverse Dictionary iterator treats an assertion as index validation, so release builds use an unchecked Simple8b value as the Datum offset. DML access to a physical compressed relation is required to store crafted data and return memory, including shared-buffer contents, through a reverse scan.
