Improper input validation in affected Electron releases allows remote attackers to make the main process access chosen file or network paths. The window.open() features parser applies some web-supplied options to a new BrowserWindow without restricting them to an allowlist. Exploitation requires untrusted content that can call window.open() in an app that neither denies the call nor explicitly overrides every child-window option.
