Cross-session window access via unscoped extension APIs
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Improper access control in Electron allows attackers controlling a loaded extension to read and modify windows across isolated sessions. The tab and scripting APIs resolve windows without restricting targets to the extension's own session, enabling cross-session navigation, script execution, and content reads. Exposure requires an app to load Chrome extensions with session.loadExtension and depend on separate Electron sessions as a security boundary.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
