Cross-origin device access via top-frame origin confusion
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Origin validation error in affected Electron releases allows remote attackers to access cameras, microphones, or serial ports. WebContentsPermissionHelper::CheckPermission substituted GetPrimaryMainFrame() and the top-level committed URL for the requesting iframe when calling setPermissionCheckHandler. Exposure requires origin-based handler logic and a cross-origin iframe delegated camera, microphone, or serial permission; the consequence is unauthorized device access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
