Administrator session hijacking via retained session identifier
Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
Session fixation in Ghost Admin 2.2.0 through 6.54.0 allows remote attackers to reuse a victim's authenticated administrator session. The createSessionForUser function reused the request's existing session object after login instead of regenerating it before assigning the user. Exploitation requires another vulnerability on the Ghost Admin domain and victim interaction, after which remote attackers can assume the victim's authenticated privileges.
