Authenticated file write via theme path traversal
Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
Path traversal in Ghost 0.10.0 through 6.54.0 allows remote authenticated users to write files outside the uploads directory. LocalStorageBase saved a theme-derived target filename without confirming that its resolved path stayed under targetDir, while theme storage accepted names consisting only of path elements. Staff access and a custom theme upload are required; the resulting out-of-directory write can alter installation behavior.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
