Stored XSS via unsafe imported content rendering
Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Ghost 5.26.0 through 6.54.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through Universal Import. The importer embeds item.url in href attributes without scheme validation or escaping, while caption paths mark unsanitized feature_image_caption values as safe HTML. Exploitation requires high-privileged Ghost Admin access and imported content; the script persists in posts and executes when the affected content is rendered.
