OAuth client registration via authorize endpoint CSRF
Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Hubzilla before 11.4 allows remote attackers to register OAuth2 applications through an authenticated user's browser. Zotlabs\Module\Authorize::post() accepts cross-origin POST parameters at /authorize and creates a persistent client without a CSRF token or Origin/Referer check. The victim must have an authenticated Hubzilla session and load attacker-controlled content; the registered client can intercept later OAuth2 authorization codes.
