Authenticated code execution via unchecked sprintf
Published Apr 26, 2026 · Updated Apr 26, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda F456 firmware 1.0.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to crash httpd or execute code. The fromVirtualSer handler for /goform/VirtualSer passes the user-controlled page parameter to sprintf without a length check, overflowing stack buffer s. Access to the router's web administration interface is required, and a crafted POST can interrupt service or corrupt control flow for code execution.
