Cross-knowledge-base deletion via unscoped cleanup identifiers
Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Open WebUI 0.9.6 through 0.10.2 allows remote authenticated users to delete cross-knowledge-base retrieval data. The sync_knowledge_cleanup handler authorizes the URL knowledge base but deletes body-supplied directory IDs and file-vector collections without verifying membership. Exploitation requires write access to one knowledge base and knowledge of target UUIDs, typically through shared access; stored files survive, but affected documents disappear from retrieval until restored.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
