Client-side SSRF via unrestricted Vega resource loading

Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026

Client-side SSRF in Open WebUI 0.6.34 through 0.10.2 allows remote authenticated users to proxy GET requests through a viewer's browser. renderVegaVisualization accepts untrusted Vega or Vega-Lite chart specifications with Vega's default loader, which fetches data URLs, geographic sources, and image-mark URLs. An account able to place content before a victim and a victim who views it are required; the browser can reach internal hosts and read same-origin or CORS-permissive responses.
