Credential exposure via contextless credential lookup
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Credential exposure in Jenkins Google Chat Notification Plugin 166.ve6b_de280f2e8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to capture secrets. The plugin's credential lookup omits the item context, so job configuration can select System-scoped credentials reserved for global configuration. Item/Configure permission is required, and successful exploitation exposes credentials beyond the user's authorization.
