Privilege escalation via sub-account creation
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Incorrect authorization in acmailer before 4.1.2 and 1.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to create admin sub-accounts. The flaw is in the sub-account management function: a sub-account can invoke the sub-account creation workflow and assign administrative permissions to the new account instead of being restricted to non-administrative actions. Exploitation requires valid sub-account credentials and no user interaction; successful abuse grants administrative control within the mailing application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
