CVE-2026-70378Public exploit

Process crash via negative carve ratio

Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Improper input validation in imagecli 0.2.1 and earlier allows local users to crash the process via a negative carve ratio. Carve::apply accepts nonpositive ratios, casts the resulting negative target width to zero, and passes zero to shrink_width, which panics. The trigger requires local CLI execution or an embedding application that accepts attacker-controlled pipeline strings; the bounded consequence is termination of that process.
