CVE-2026-70348

Local service interrupt via link following

Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026

Link following in Windows Management Services in Microsoft Windows 11 allows local users to interrupt the service via crafted links. The component resolves a supplied link before file access and reaches an unintended target instead of rejecting attacker-controlled redirection. Exploitation requires local authenticated access on Windows 11 version 24H2 before 10.0.26100.9168, version 25H2 before 10.0.26200.9168, or version 26H1 before 10.0.28000.2704, and published scoring bounds the consequence to availability loss.
