Local data disclosure via undisclosed input validation
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Information disclosure in Microsoft Office PowerPoint before August 2026 Office updates allows local attackers to read exposed data. Microsoft has disclosed only that PowerPoint performs improper input validation; no public advisory, CNA record, or downstream write-up identifies the parser, file format, or operation that exposes the information. Microsoft scores the issue with PR:N and UI:R, so exploitation appears to require local access and user interaction such as opening attacker-supplied content, with confidentiality impact only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
