Information disclosure via compressed-folder hard link
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Information disclosure in Microsoft Windows Compressed Folder allows remote attackers to read data through a crafted compressed folder. The archive handler does not block an embedded Windows hard link from resolving to data outside the archive's intended contents. Exploitation requires a user to open the attacker-supplied item, and the reported consequence is data disclosure without modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
