Local privilege escalation via UDFS heap overflow
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
A heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft's Windows UDFS driver allows local authenticated users to elevate privileges. Microsoft has not disclosed the UDFS parsing operation, malformed input, or buffer-management error that triggers the heap overwrite. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and can cross the driver trust boundary to obtain elevated Windows privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
