CVE-2026-6959

Host file read and write via log-pipe symlinks

Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026

Link-following in affected HashiCorp Nomad and Nomad Enterprise releases allows attackers to read and write files on client hosts. A malicious task can swap the named-pipe symlinks used for allocation stdout and stderr logs, causing the logging path to follow links into the host filesystem. Exploitation requires permission to launch a task and is bounded to the filesystem privileges of the Nomad process user.
