Local privilege escalation via raced object release
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Use-after-free in Microsoft Windows Device Association Service allows local users with basic access to elevate privileges through a race. The service releases an object while a concurrent execution path can still reference it, creating a timing window for reuse of freed memory. Successful exploitation requires local low-privileged access and winning the race; it grants elevated control over the affected system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
