Local code execution via heap buffer overflow
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in Windows BitLocker allows local users with administrative privileges to execute code through local input. Microsoft has not disclosed the affected BitLocker routine, input format, or allocation and copy operation that overruns the heap buffer. Exploitation requires local access and high privileges, and successful exploitation executes code in the BitLocker security context without user interaction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
