SYSTEM privilege escalation via lsasrv stack overflow
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Windows LSA Server allows local users with low privileges to elevate privileges through lsasrv. Microsoft has not disclosed which lsasrv routine copies attacker-controlled data or how the stack buffer's bounds are exceeded. Local low-privilege access is required; successful exploitation grants SYSTEM privileges and can fully compromise the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
